Delena: We’ve Finally Gotten It Right
You got the girl man
I got the girl
Though the conversation had been brief Damon found himself pressing repeat as a played constantly over and over again in his head still trying to process the fact that Elena Gilbert had actually chosen him. This had been different from last time, from the phone conversation they had shared because no longer was there a sire bound even in death you make me feel most alive how was it even possible that he Damon Salvatore might actually be experiencing happiness. Though he was completely elated he was also feeling large amounts of guilt over the fact that Stefan, his little brother must be suffering over Elena’s choice. A small part of Damon knew even with Stefan’s I’ve moved on speeches that he was still holding onto hope that maybe, just maybe Elena would turn back into her doe eyed self and run back into Stefan’s arms. Was it wrong that Damon felt relief that Stefan’s wishes hadn’t come true that even with her returning back to her guilt ridden and good deed self that she still wanted Damon?
I’m supposed to be celebrating victory….granted Elena isn’t a prize to be won, but still why am I not toasting and what not he thinks to himself casting his gaze over at the empty spot on the couch that Alaric just moments ago had occupied. ”I finally get the girl man and you’re gone….this is all new to me” his finger grazing the tumbler”what if I screw this up….who’s going to give me the kick in the ass I need to shape up” he asks with a raised brow, silent for a moment half hoping he might get an answer, but knowing now it’s next to near impossible.
The sound of the front door being pushed open causes Damon to snap out from his gloomy thoughts as he sets his tumbler down on the coffee table making his way over to the foyer knowing already who it is, just the thought of her causes a small smile to pull up at his lips causing him to increase his pace. Damon finds himself coming to a dead halt, no pun intended the second his alluring baby blues cast their gaze on the beautiful yet slightly damaged vision crossing into the threshold of the house, his gaze immediately dropping to the passed out body in her arms. “Now what did I say about girl on girl rumbling….shirts are to be off and jello needs to be involved” his voice teasing, yet a worried expression reflecting in his hues as he approaches her “are you alright” he asks placing his hand and stroking her Elena’s cheek before flicking his attention down at Katherine’s passed out form “what the hell happened?”
The effects of the cure taking over the instance the vial was shattered inside Katherine’s mouth. Luckily for Elena….any later and her heart very well would have ended up in Katherine’s hands as she fell to the ground. “Have a nice human life Katherine…” Sarcasm laced her voice, watching the older vampire…human intently. Making sure she was unconscious before her guard was fully dropped. She sighed in relief, rolling over onto her back. Looking up to the ceiling above her and yet all her focus was on her own thoughts.Relief practically coursed through her veins. She was alive…death had been so close, just one more tug and she would have been a goner. She laughed weakly the sound barely escaping her lips. I’ll survive…somehow I always do…Her own words echoed inside her head. Katherine had killed Jeremy….her brother. She be damned if she let her take anything else, including her life.
Deep breaths….in and out…Even as a vampire, there was no denying shad had taken quite the beating from Katherine Pierce. Jagged cuts across her forehead, she could feel the shards of glass embedded into her wounds. Her lip, which was starting to heal but blood still remained, considering she made no efforts to wipe it away…Blood stained her dress, the fabric torn….Bottom line, nothing a little blood couldn’t fix. She would be okay. For an instant her eyes flickered shut but when that moment passed she opened them once again. She let out a groan, clearly in pain as she forced herself to get up. Staying here all day wasn’t an option….nor was leaving Katherine. As tempting as it was to just…leave her there. Elena wasn’t going to let her get away that easily. Shifting her weight, she bent down and collected the unconscious Katherine into her arms.
She put strain on herself and on her body, but she managed to finally arrive at the boarding house. Damon was there…the second she managed to get the front door open and closed again behind her. A smile tugged at the corner of her lips but didn’t quite appear all the way. Trying to lighten the mood but this wasn’t a joking manner…The cure was gone…the only one in the world and it had been completely wasted…..Elena simply shook her head, stepping away from his touch. Moving around him, she entered the parlor room…It was safe to say Elena was far from gentle as she set Katherine down on the couch. Turning back around, hoping Damon had followed her. She was far from happy but it had nothing to do with him. “I went to the school…to look for Bonnie and Katherine attacked me…” She paused, making sure he was actually there before continuing… Of course something happened, she probably looked terrible. “I tried but she’s so much stronger than I am. She tried to kill me….she was going to tear my heart out and I panicked so I did the on;y thing I could think of.” Her gaze flickered in Katherine’s direction, “I practically shoved the cure down her throat….”
